The New York Giants have made a decision on their quarterback situation, as the team has signed Russell Wilson to a massive one-year deal, that could be worth up to $21 million. The contract includes a $10.5 million guarantee.

Wilson visited with the Cleveland Browns, but he now heads to the NFC. He would presumably be the starter.

Wilson spent the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he signed a veteran's minimum deal of $1.2 million.
During his time with the Steelers, Wilson suffered a calf injury in training camp, leading to him missing six games. Following his recovery, Wilson would take over starting duties from Justin Fields.
Wilson put together a 2024 season that includes 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. This also included 155 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Following the conclusion of the 2024 season, there was widespread belief that the Steelers would move on from Wilson. They surprisingly moved on from both Wilson and Fields.
Fields signed a deal with the New York Jets, and now Wilson has signed with the Giants. With both of the Steelers' signal callers in New York, Pittsburgh is likely going to be angling to sign veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers visited the Steelers organization recently but left without a deal. There were plenty of reports that indicated a deal would likely come, though one has not materialized yet.
Considering Wilson has joined the Giants, it would be presumed that the Rodgers and Steelers situation could heat up in the coming days and weeks.
The Giants now have Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Tommy DeVito. What is even more interesting is the addition of Wilson could severely impact the draft.
New York currently sits at No. 3 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, and they have been tied to Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders.

Earlier on Tuesday, NFL insider Adam Schefter stated he believed the Giants would make a move on Sanders, even if they signed Wilson. With one of those two predictions already coming to fruition, it will be interesting to see what New York plans to do in the draft.
Should the Giants draft Sanders, they would presumably cut DeVito, or make him a practice squad quarterback. Then, it would be Winston, Wilson, and Sanders battling it out for QB1 and QB2.
The Giants signing Wilson is certainly going to impact many mock drafts moving forward.
